Why journey management?

Safety. Journey management has the ability to both reduce the number of transportation-related HSE incidents and mitigate their consequences when they do occur.

Aside from the critical safety aspect, journey management provides the tools to identify inefficiencies and inconsistencies in the use of resources, thus enabling users to cut costs and increase the quality of their logistics operations.

We implement and deploy journey management technological solutions that work in the remotest of environments.

We also work on projects with a hardware component, such as our upcoming advanced RGNSS system for offshore geophysical exploration:

  • Multiband, quad-constellation receivers.
  • Centimetre-level accuracy.
  • Short time to first fix (TTFF) and rapid re-acquisition after loss of signal.
  • Highly modular design for ease of upgrade and repairs, including field repairs.
  • Physical specifications adapted to the target operational environment.

We develop and host sophisticated weather forecast APIs for professional use in the aviation, energy and defence industries.

We also run the world's largest publicly accessible METAR and TAF database, containing well over half a billion records since 2008.

Privacy notice

  • We do not use cookies or store any sort of persistent identifying information in your computer. We do not rely on any third parties who do, either.

  • We do not use any form of tracking or “analytics” technology.

  • If you write or call us, we will use your contact details and other information that you may have given us exclusively for the purpose of supplying the information or services that you request and for discharging our legal and contractual duties. In no event will your information be sold or passed on to third parties, outside of the cases stipulated by the law, without your prior authorisation.

  • You may exercise your rights of access, modification, portability and deletion of your personal data by contacting us, preferably in writing.

Information that we collect generally

  • Your IP address: Our web server keeps a log of all connections for the last 90 ±7 days. This is used to prevent unauthorised access and monitor abuse, such as attempts at screen scraping.

Information that we collect in specific cases

Historical METAR / TAF enquiries (free)
  • Your IP address is associated with each request that you make and kept for 90 ±7 days. This is used to monitor abuse, such as a user making a series of smaller requests to avoid payment, which goes towards offsetting the collection and storage costs of the data.

  • Your email address: Because historical data requests are batched instead of being processed immediately, we request an email address and use it to inform you when your request has been handled. Normally this is an automated process but if anything goes wrong we may also access it to send you a reply hand-crafted by a human. Likewise, should you initiate contact with us concerning a request that you have placed, we can use your email address to find the concerned records. Email addresses are kept in the database for 90 ±7 days. If we have had a human-to-human conversation though, a copy of the emails we exchanged is kept indefinitely in our mailboxes—as with any other data, you may ask us for a copy of it or ask that we delete it.

Historical METAR / TAF enquiries (paid)
  • In addition to the data collected for non-paid enquiries as detailed in the previous section, we also collect information necessary to process your payment. This depends on the payment method but may include your name and email address, and possibly a postal address or telephone number. That information is stored at the site of our payments processor, Stripe (see their privacy policy).

  • We do not have access to your payment details. All we can see is: the last four digits of your credit / debit card, its type (Visa, Mastercard, …), expiration date, country of issue, and whether or not it has passed certain security checks (but not the data used in such checks).

Contact form
  • When you write to us via the contact form an email is delivered to our inbox and it, as well as any replies that we may send, are kept indefinitely unless you ask us to delete it.
